Parent & Tot (Ages 2-5) - Tuesdays 5:40-6:10pm & Saturdays 9:00-9:30am
This program is for skaters aged 2 to 5 years who would benefit from the assistance of a parent or other adult on the ice to assist them through the beginning stages of learning to skate. This program is designed to be shorter than the regular CanSkate program to help the skaters get acclimatized to the arena and being on the ice. Please note that the Skate Canada Insurance and Safe Sport Fee are required to be paid for both parent and skater, which will require 2 registrations to be completed-one for Parent & Tot-Tot and one for Parent & Tot-Parent. All parent helpers must be capable skaters.
PreCanSkate (Ages 3-5) - Tuesdays 5:40-6:10pm & Saturdays 9:00-9:30am & 9:35-1020am
PreCanSkate is for our youngest beginner skaters aged 3-5 who have never skated but don’t need the assistance of a parent or guardian on the ice . It is taught in a group format by our professional coaches and our program assistants.
PowerSkate (All ages) - Fridays 7:05-8:00pm
Get a step up on the competition with PowerSkate, a high-energy instructional power skating program geared to hockey and ringette players. This program focuses on balance, control and agility skills including components of power and speed. Skating skills, techniques and performance drills are taught in a progressive format by Skate Canada coaches certified through the NCCP to enhance the skating ability required in game situations. Skaters may be any age and must have previous skating experience that equates to Stage 4 in CanSkate or higher. Skaters without an identified CanSkate level will be required to demonstrate their on-ice skating skill level to participate in the class. Adaptive skaters and sledge hockey skaters who have an identified skating level are welcome. All PowerSkate participants must have hockey skates, gloves, a stick, and helmet. Full equipment is optional. Some of the top players in the NHL have trusted Skate Canada’s best-in-class programs to help them reach hockey’s biggest stage.
